We're working on user interface in the HTML5 version and it would be a very appropriate time to ask for your suggestions.

Here are the areas we're covering this time:
Buttons
Menus
Toolbars
Icons
Buying and moving units
End game screen
Functionalities of the above items

Here's what's NOT covered:
Gameplay
Rally points and waypoints for units

Don't forget to upvote other people's suggestions - we will look at the numbers to see what's popular and should have more priority.

Cheers!

It seems too much of an emphasis on speed in building walls. The faster you and click and drag the better off you are.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement, but I'd like to introduce an automatic "wall-up" button one day. Would sure save a lot of boring click and dragging.

No, please don't, making walls is an important balancing aspect of the game ...otherwise a player with more cities and units will always have an advantage over his opponent and this doesn't have to be skill related but rather the fact of initial expansion options and strategy of choice.

Being able to use the keyboard to buy and move units:

* Select a city
* Press CTRL + "hotkey assigned to that unit" to buy that unit
* Press CTRL + SHIFT + "hotkey" to buy in increments of 5
* Press "hotkey" to select 1 unit of that type to the stack
* Press SHIFT + "hotkey" to select 5 of that unit type
* Press SPACE to move the selected units (this one would be interesting even if the above ones weren't implemented)

Being able to build all reinforcements of a certain unit type from the unit menu:

(pretend the green button is some nice icon)

In a game lobby, you can't see the level limits set by the map creator

At the end game screen I would like to see some more graphs such as SP earned by turn, unit count by turn, and total number of cities by turn. Maybe you could also make it show each player's strategy next to their name and SP, but only if they are already dead or the game is over. So maybe you could make something like this on both the turn screen and the end game screen.

A Pause Button
Sometimes, I'm in cw and someone rings at my door, last time I couldn't answer and the person went away, I never knew who it was.
At other times, I receive phone calls or stuffs happens like someone dcs. When someone dc in cw, it create a lot of fuss and people need to tie and when they dont want to, it makes people angry and stuff... These things happens often and ruin good cws. With a pause button, when one dc, his teammates can pause the game so that nobody lose a turn and the cw can continue as if nothing happened.

I propose that we get a pause button so that when something like that happens, one can pause the game for 4 minutes maximum (could be a definite time or not, but max 4 mins).
To prevent abuse, a player could only pause once per game, or only one pause could be allowed per game. Since it's only 4 mins, it wouldn't be so bad anyway.

That and an Undo button

i can understand why youd want such a feature as a rank 5, when everything is so slow and it takes you a good 30 seconds to form a single wall. But your speed builds up and a lot of high ranks can now wall in 5 seconds or less. It has become a part of the game, especially since theres skill in building certain walls, ie making your wall longer on a city to block a certain path beside it.

id like to suggest making right click usable in game, if you right click on a city or a stack, you pull 1 unit out. That would speed up walling and wallfucking by reducing the need to open the menu everytime.

also pulses ideas are great.

Oh another suggestion, id like to see a button beside the pictures of units that turns on and off auto in an individual city. It can be quite slow in a low turntime game opening that scroll menu to select a specific unit to autoproduce, especially in maps with many different unit types.

Right click is not allowed in Silverlight, so we can't use it in the current version. I believe it's possible in HTML5 (never tried), but since we want the game to be playable on mobile devices, we will have to stick to regular clicks only (no mouse over either).

I tried the new version on a mobile. Granted, not much is implemented yet, but dragging units around, quickly zooming in/out and moving the map works awesome already, without us even trying to adapt anything for mobiles yet. Using touchscreen controls for this feels very natural.

In HTML 5 I would personally love to see if you could implement Extra Cities in every single game.. Instead of starting at the normal amount of cities, make the default 100+ Cities, and have to click it not be to 100+. Would really be helpful, also extremely helpful for those who don't have premium..

Thanks!

EDIT: Not sure what category this goes in, but I wouldn't fit it in gameplay, since Id assume this would be extremely easy to implement!

Not by right click. To select a single infantry left mouse still on the city and the small window you select "1 infantry."

This allows for the movement in one click without using the right click. Right click may be difficult to implement (silverlight) which is why I suggest this alternative.

Please make the chat tabbed rather than drop down multi select. Thats the way most games are on the internet and is way better that way. You shouldn't lose chats when moving from one tab to another. Only when in game should ally tab be highlighted. This way you won't lose chats when switching from one room to another. Obviously there should be a all chats tab as well where you can view all chats.

This I don't think should be too hard to implement. You only need to make sure chats are persisting in each tabs.
