I was thinking that we could sort of work around the limits of the game and implement Terrain Modifiers by creating units such as "Urban", "Island", or, for cities in mountainous areas, "Mountains", etc. These units could have a special defense, say:

"Urban" +2 defense against Tanks.
"Mountains" +2 defense against normal Infantry, Tanks, etc.
"Plains" -2 defense against all(so that we can have harder environments and also easier ones to capture).

Perhaps we could also use commander units, such as:

"Rubble" +2 defense to all units in the stack. This could be used in such places as WWII maps, where at Stalingrad, there would be an immovable commander unit. It's representative of what normally happens when there is rubble; it is harder for the offenders than the defenders, since there is more places to hide and to exploit.

Combining this with such things as a no-go area such as things with the Qattara Depression and mountainous areas such as the Alpines, and we could cause pseudo-terrain affects, atleast until a more advanced idea of this or the developers can implement something similar. What do you think?

I am pretty sure many map makers already make special units with no range to protect a specific place, yet blitzkrieg can be use to bypass this.

I know they do, but this can be specific to environments. If a map-maker makes a city that is in a wide open plains and another that is an urban city, there should be a difference in how combat is held there, hence why defense modifiers are made. I haven't seen any map maker use special units to represent weather/terrain environments.

I didn't think of blitzkrieg though. Does blitzkrieg affect ":other" units as well? Maybe map-makers can make the option to turn off strategies if they really want an improvised terrain modifier.

It's mainly supposed to be an improvised "solution" to the problem since the developers are saying it's too difficult to code but many players want to see this or something similar.

who wants to see this?

blitzkrieg affects all units including others.
terrain types don't really matter if there is no supplies or moral systems.
