Background Information
Before I explain my idea, let me give you a few drops of background so you can understand it [Amok, if you lose your sanity i am sorry ].
Atwar has ports right? naval units can only be recruited in ports right?
In the map editor we are allowed to "tag" a city as a port right? ok, now let me tell you my idea:
Allow map makers to create new "tags" and to assign "tags" to cities and units.
What will this do?
-A city with the port "tag" will be allowed to recruit units that can only be recruited in cities with the port "tag" [Naval Units and Custom Naval units]
-A city with the air base "tag" will be allowed to recruit units that can only be recruited in cities with the air base "tag" [Custom Air units, and Default Air units if the map maker edit them to require the air base "tag"]
How will this look?
Creating "Tags" will be just like creating a new country/unit
Assigning a "Tag" can either be simple stuff like checking/unchecking all the "tags" currently created in the map (the Port "tag" can be in maps by default)
Or it can be like this:
Then units can be assigned a tag, this is a default naval unit:
How will this benefit map makers and atwar?
This will take atwar map making to a completely new whole level, just to give you an example:
-Red (aka Rome) can recruit Roman units in his land, Red can only recruit Barbarian Mercenaries in Blue's Land (Aka Barbarians), Red can't recruit any units in Pink's Land
-Blue (Aka Barbarians) can recruit Barbarian Hordes in his land, Blue can only recruit Swordmen in Red's Land, Blue can't recruit any units in Pink's Land.
-Pink (Aka Huns) can only recruit Huns in his land, Pink can recruit "Alan Soldiers", "Visigoth Soldiers" , "Frank Soldiers" etc depending on which region he takes from Blue, Pink can only recruit "slaves" in any land he takes from Red.

That's exactly what I was wondering. Why don't we have something like this to make maps more realistic. Certain cities should make certain things. I agree with this idea.

A little lost here since I'm not a map maker, but the idea seems good though. How would you summarize this into a sentence or two so I can add it to the Suggestions To Be Possibly Implemented In HTML5 thread.

"Ports are a special tag that a city needs in order to recruit naval units, allow the map makers to create more special tags and to limit the recruitment of units to those special tags"

This is actually a pretty great idea. Remind me if we forget to implement it in the HTML5 editor.

You are really something else Fappino. You comment on one of my comments from up-teen years ago.. and send a notification to my mailbox. You are so in-mature its ridiculous. We really need to sit down and talk because if I get another notification from you again I'm going to get really pissed. If you want to critic my map making (for unknown reason since I told you my map isn't ever being published and its only for fun and nothing else) then PM me ( so I can delete it) .
