Do you ever join the game and the game starts and then you look at your strategy and think F*CK wrong one. well we should also be allowed to change it on turn 1 and only on that turn when everyone is still at peace.

This is an interesting suggestion. I see little reason why it would be problematic... I for one have latency, so really when I change strategy in proper time, the game starts before the information that I changed my strategy is sent, which simply means the server didn't register me changing the strategy in time. It's very problematic in games where the situation changes during the pick. Obviously you can't go in there thinking "I'm going to go full turkey this 3v3 using GW!!!111" and then someone picks Turkey xD. I support this. Though, I'm interested in seeing somebody make an argument as to why it wouldn't be a good update.

I think there should be a system like that : After all players pick their countries, you will get a screen to pick your strategie. Then all players arrange their strat, game will start.

There is nothing to add. Summed the reason why not, and i agree with VRIL. Unless the strategy instantly convert it self to the one the user chose before the first turn started (after clicking ready) without the bonuses of the previous strategy.

I would love for you to explain in detail how this can be abused. It's abused once you see how others expand, which doesn't happen until AFTER turn 1. My proposal is that you get to change strategy DURING the first turn. Therefore, your statement is invalidated. This is cannot be abused so long as you keep it within proper parameters.

-starts turn -spams imp tanks turn 1. -changes strat to tank general -expands. -ends turn or -starts turn -spams blitzkrieg infantry -expands -changes to IF -ends turn. all of it happens turn 1, just so you know.

no, games would take forever to start. Just allow it to be changeable on turn 1; before being able to move or buy units. Once a player moves or buys a unit, this option is no longer available unless it is still possible for him to undo the purchase or the movement. (to avoid what vril has brought up)

Alright, thank you for calrifying. In that case, the next best improvement I could see is that in order to start a game everyone must have their strategy set. It won't show the actual strategy, just who does not* have it set (incase they r being trollz huehue, so that you may kick them if appropriate.). This could open the door way to it's own problems. Though, you must consider that it seriously degrades the quality of the game if you pick SM Germany just because you forgot to change the strategy from your last game.

for example there are 5players in game. You picked first, then you will have 4*30 secs to pick your strat. Its the maximum. Or you will have atleast 30 secs as minimum. I think it is hard to coding what you wanted. Thats why I started to think on basic things.

You know.. i dont know why youre so picky about it, if you set it correctly theres no way it can be abused, i alreaddy know 3 options to not be able to abuse it option 1: theres a screen inbetween start and turn 1, the players have 30 seconds to choose strat option 2: you change strat, but it resets EVERYTHING you have done that turn option 3: if you move or build a unit, you cant choose youre strategy anymore NO abuse possible. and i know for certain that the admins will not make it able to be abused and that abuse of it will be reported by the mods+normal players i once got beaten because i used impirealist as manchuria and i hadnt the time to change my strat, as i was the last one to pick the host started the game littelarily 5 seconds after i picked my country, and since manchuria has free tanks anywhay, it costed the axis in the east there victory as russia and usa were simultaniously rocket bombing the japanese, making there economy useless anywhay... i think i had atleast 3 games where i got beaten cause i couldnt choose my strat... i support the idea and our admins are definetly smart enough to find a solution to the abuse.. i dont see it happening any time soon that its going to get abused, just saying and really, i think youre not that smart if youre going to start whining about abuse which is able to get (probably easily) dealth with

Ok i didn't realise this was turn one only, but still, i do not see the point in this. it is simple. change your strategy before the game has started, this avoids confusion, and unnecessary work for the admins who already have a fair amount of work. haha

Yes but see, we provided a counter to that already. Columna presented the same 2 options available that are unable to be abused. Those are the 2 brand and myself are aiming to popularize. However, as time progresses my stance on this is sort of shifting. It is pretty work intensive on our already busy admins. If we all just make the best effort to pick before the game actually starts ("Game start is on hold" allows you to pick your strategy until you click ready or it is released.) In a sense, we already have a solution. We just need to remind game hosts to allow proper time for everybody to pick their strat.

Isent it that you get no income or expenses when you start? Btw, thats smart and it might cut out 2 options of my list.. But i still have the last option, and that is the inbetween face, 4 peopole start there game and simultaniously, strat get chosen by all players, maximum timer stands in the settings (Probably 15 sec - 1 minute) and there is no abuse possible in the inbetween screen, there practicly still in the scenario selection And since the picking will go relatively fast, why not? No abuse, no complaints and the timestrain will be relatively minor, while you can sharpen youre swords and battletactis at the final moment Anywhay, wont you feel fucked if you went impirealist on a 50k game or choose lucky bastard on a 5k game? Just sying it will preserve you from loosing if you plan to rush as america with blitzkrieg, when you suddenly shockingly realize you have been playing IF....

1.- if is a scenario you will have at least, 15 minutes to choose your strat 2.- if is a 3 vs 3 the host will give u time 3.- in my example i didn't recreuit, by picking imp i just eliminated the turn 1 upkeep and now i can change to other strat before moving stuff.
