Recenly had an argument with an admin about this. He insisted that it is me trying to push my opinion and not communitys opinion. I today did a 1v1 cw and all spectators were implying that when a clan uses only 1 player to cw it shouldnt be a cw because cws are coalition wars. Coalition means a number of people not an individual.
As i recently wrote to guidelles topic :
2) no ghosting no matter what, only for help start in 2v2 cws but that could be fixed by making cws possible to start with 4. No 2v1 1v1 5v1 no matter what. It's a clan war has to be even players for both teams no matter settings picks or conditions. Exeptions are only scenario cws if they become available.
Discuss.

I don't think 1v1s should count as CWs, those are duels. If we allow 1v1 CWs then clans will just let their best duelers do 1v1 CWs all the time.

In my opinion, a clan war is a clan war. It doesn't state how many players are needed to do one. If two clans agree to a 1v1, then let them. It's still considered a clan war.

What happens if someone like Witch-Doctor or 4nic decide to make a 1 member clan and just 1v1 CW everyone breaking new records. How is that fair? Also it's obvious that if 1v1 CWs are legalized then clans are just going to stop CWing normally on the final days of the season and just use their best players to 1v1 CW to get as much elo as they can before season ends.
1v1 CWs are just going to cause more unnecessary drama and just not a good idea in general.

I think the minimum needed to start a clan war should be 2 people from each clan, one being an officer or leader.

Is it really that different than if Witch-Doctor and 4nic just teamed up and 2v2 everyone. In other games, cw's can be 1v1s as well as team vs team.

Sounds like you got a stick up your ass. Why can't it be 3v2 or 4v3 etc?? If your goal is to have a "balanced" game, then your argument is already lost. The only truly balanced cw is to flip a coin and give elo to whichever clan guesses the side it lands on.

It is different if it's a 2v2 and it's you and 4nic. I just used you two as an example. When you think of a clan/coalition war, you automatically think of a group or a team. That's the whole point of clan wars. Winning wars with a team. Clan wars will lose all meaning if people can just make their own 1 man clan and start trolling/farming the CW scene.
What if someone like zoella decides to make her own 1 woman clan and starts CWing tons of clans. Who is to say she won't purposely lose to a specific clan to help them get more elo? (No offense to her but just using her as an example as she does troll a lot).
If you want to argue to allow 2v2 CWs when one clan is using 1 person to play on two accounts (and lets the opponent know about this), then maybe I can agree on that. However, 1v1 CWs just doesn't make any sense. Those are called duels.

No, because more players that participate in cw, teamwork becomes more and more relevant compared to the individual skill. Come on, you're not born yesterday..

That wouldnt really be a possibility because everyone who plays cws knows how good they are. They would have to do 2v2 or 3v3 sometime.

Zoella wouldn't be able to do that because it's against the rules. Also when it comes to clan wars, sure you think of a group of people. But that's what you think of with clan in the name. If you remove it, it's just a war. Which can be fought by anyone. A clan is just a name. A party.

It is a possibility. The final days of a season you're just going to be seeing spam 1v1 CWs.
Mortal Kombat using Eagle, Mystics using Beserok, OOTE using Mecoy, Illyria using Lao or 4nic, it's just going to be the same regular duelers except they're just doing it for CWs now to get as much elo as possible before season ends.

Dude that's not true and you know it. I admit it, I am guilty of it, pretty much all clans are guilty of farming weaker clans. It's natural. If 1v1 CWs are allowed then farming will reach new heights. Someone with tons of SP can literally troll an entire season by making a new clan every week and just CWing tons of clans. It'll be madness. It'll cause so much more arguments and cry threads.

1v1 CWs are just going to cause more unnecessary drama and just not a good idea in general.
Is it really that different than if Witch-Doctor and 4nic just teamed up and 2v2 everyone. In other games, cw's can be 1v1s as well as team vs team.
There is NOTHING stopping a clan from throwing 2v2. 3v3, 4v4, etc... clan wars. For example, Illy can easily just have all 3 members do stupid expansion and retarded gamethrowing shit and lose.
That isn't my point. The point is, even if Illyria have 3 members do stupid expansions and throw the game, at least they're doing so as a team/coalition. I could make a 1 man clan and CW for a week, get bored, leave, then create a new 1 man clan and repeat every week. This will just ruin the CW scene.
that's so troll to do and actually boring. Who would want to do that? Probably unleashed. But still, who would do that? You're giving all of these examples but their already a rule, being enforced, or just unrealistic with a really small possibility of happening.
Anyone with the SP to spare would do it. Let's say I made my own clan for myself and get down to 900 seasonal elo. Instead of working harder to get positive elo, I could simply just leave the clan and make another one and start again, because I have the SP to spare.

Ok what if 2 people just decided to get farmed and feed elo to one clan all season. Then they leave and make a new clan. What if 3 people did it.

Then at least they're doing it as a coalition and not as an individual. And they'll be dealt with accordingly by the moderators.

I've played competitive card games like magic the gathering where a "coalition war" is a series of 1v1 against players from two different teams. Stop quoting the dictionary.

But this isn't one of your little competitive magic card games, this is atWar. The final decision is up to the moderators.

No, and its not even a debate. Minimum should be 2, go duel if you want 1v1 there are plenty of trophies and accolades to be won for 1v1 players.
#Should look at the way clan points are gained though, a freshen up of the Clan War league would be good.

I understand the reasoning behind it as if you want to 1v1 with elo involved then you should just duel whereas a coalition war is well... a coalition war and not a 1 man army. Personally I don't mind as I suppose some like to represent their team in their own way like Chess with his 1v2 cws. Anyways there isn't a rule against it so I suppose you are fine for now, sometimes it's hard to even have 1 teammate so I don't blame you.
