I am simply curious as to why they are named marines. They are stealth units that can deploy from subs and do sneak attacks. Marines are for naval landings. Wouldn't it be more logical to name them "special forces" or "rangers" or something? This may have been suggested before but I am wondering why it is marines, it doesn't exactly seem very fitting for what they are useed for in AW. I would imagine technically they would simply be a branch of infantry instead of stealth units like we use them.

No marines are amphibious infantry. For (what ever kind of stealth misson) deploying from subs sound more like navy seals. BUT they are mostly used on land and with GW like partisans. Again just wondering why did we go with marines and not something simplely generic like "special forces".

You can put marines in normal transports. Nothing stops you.

You're still completely missing the purpose of the question and not attempting to provide a good answer.
