Wouldn't be cool to watch WW2 movies in specific timeline to follow history/story? Problem is not all of us know all WW2 movies, so you can post here and we all can make a list and create marathon. My list (from movies i know), and i will add year movie is describing: - The Brest Fortress (1941, German invasion of USSR) - Stalingrad (stalingrad battle 1942/43) - Windtalkers (1943, American-Japanese pacific war) - Enemy at the gates (1943, Stalingrad battle, Operation Uranus) - White Tiger (1943/44, USSR started the counter-attack, Germany invented new tanks) - Saving private Ryan (1944, Normandy landings, Operation Overlord) - Fury (1945, entrance in Germany from Belgium) - Downfall (1945, final days of the Reich)

Downfall was one of the best WWII movies I have ever seen. Fantastic acting and a great story to see the final days of a regime crumbling. The actor for Hitler did a phenomenal job showing the truly degradation of Hitler's mental state as well as his Parkinson's disease. As for movies, I don't really have a lot of WWII movies (prefer to watch movies about other eras). There was an (I think) HBO series called "Band of Brothers" which followed a company of AMerican soldiers beginning with their training and ending (if I remember correctly) right around D-Day at which point the rest of the series follows them throughout Europe as the war comes to an end.

But i want movies so i can create timeline compilation and watch them all. Series have episodes and doesn't show everything they want in one episode, while 2h movie show all they wanted for that time, since, that's the point. You can post here anytime if you remember some WW2 movie, doesn't have to be American or Russian.

Poland created series about tanks 40 years ago called 'Czterej pancerni i pies' (Four tank-men and a dog), it's basically same as Fury, just a series. Very good i might add, especially if you like tanks.

I havn't seen it in a while, but there was one movie called "Tora Tora Tora" about Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. There were also two movies, one is Flag of our fathers (maybe not a movie you would watch for WWII compilation, but if you have time, it follows soldiers who were the "heroes" on Iwo Jima who raised the American flag on the island). The other one which I enjoyed was "Letters from Iwo Jima" which saw the Japanese point of view on Iwo Jima. Great film, I recommend watching it with Japanese audio and subtitles (I tried watching ti English dubbed but thought the Japanese actors did much better).
