Do you guys think lunatis is suitable for competitive playing?

I've identified four standard zones that have high income (light blue, orange, purple and green) and high reinforcements. This could mean that 4v4 is alright in lunatis with two people fighting for control of each zone.

Black and yellow are somewhat irrelevant with low income and low reinf. Yellow reinforcements can't even reach the main battleground in time, but the income helps regardless.

I haven't had much time to research on it, but if anyone wants to help it's always welcome.

Dreamworld by chess is a good example of a competitive player made map..this one is meh..
Dreamwrold relies on the usage of gc,nc,lb,imp,IF it makes it different than unbalanced default pd map

Too big and too many reins. It would be viable for cws sure but not many people would be interested. I personally wouldnt because games too long and unit counts would get too big lategame. At a glance i would say gw will be boss on that map, high city density/unit prod and mid range income.

Everything about dreamworld screams pd as an optimal strat. Gc would be awful. Imp and nc are good, If and lb viable and only in the center. Good map though but destoria is better in terms of versatility.

Chess mentioned in his post about the map that its to promote the non conventional strats used on default map...claiming that gc and nc are the best...and they ARE.
Most of the cities are ports and most of the lands have high income, perfect for more variety on strat usages.
I would bet hw can be played quite well on that map too.

He's right about nc cause of all the water but gc sucks there. Dreamworld overall has too much spawn and not enough income for gc making strats like pd/imp superior. Sm and the other expensive strats are also usable but not great. The whole concept of centralised income which teams have to fight for control over is nice but it limits your strat choices. Try some duels there and you'll see what i mean.

I've dueled in it and my personaly experience tells me that DS is good by picking a central country with low cost. Optimal helicopter spam 1st turn. You basically rely on your helis for a fast rush or fast expansion and then on your low cost militia spam to overwhelm your opponent.

This being said, your first and second turn are hugely impactful. Screw it early game and you're done. Destroy your opponent's expansion and it's gg.

Regarding NC, all I can say is that it's my fav strategy there

Do you guys think lunatis is suitable for competitive playing?

As Lao said, it's huge. That implies certain problems such as low action, much stacking and basically boring long games with little strategy variance. Maybe limiting the area of the map (something similar to Eu+ for the world map) could work but I'm still not sure of the strategic variability.

Check out dreamworld and destoria!

Non ds helis are inferior to gc tanks for expansion in literally every way.

There's no area that's both dense and varying. Destoria is the best out of these but still too big to be played commonly, good for 4v4s though.

Fuck sake, I meant DS I wanted to highlight that strategy too since no one seemed to mention it... My mistake, sorry!

I've actually cwed in destoria (3v3) and it's nice but picks are quite limited considering its size

Yeah 3v3 is nice also, but 4v4 is best considering the room. Yeah there are a few smaller countries just to be eaten up but there's still that space.
