What do you mean by "rolls"? Also how to know the opponent's unit range since I can not check their units' status.

Generally

Blitz: Legendary range
DS: Use of helis
GC: Check how infantry roll and decide, if they roll terribly while the tanks roll excellently it's gc
GW: Useless infantry, use of marines and (possibly) militia
HW: Use of militia, marines, tanks and infantry
Imp: Check for poor expanding rolls such as having to send 7 inf against 4 militia as opposed to 6 with pd
IF: No range, but excellent rolls for everything
LB: Not sure...check if the enemy crits often?
MoS: Marines that are as strong as tanks, useful infantry (that can be sent +2 against militia)
NC: Transport and destroyer range
RA: Fast moving tanks
SM: Use of air transports combined with bombers, minimal ground troops
PD: None of the above
None: None of the above and using tanks/helis so can't be pd.

You can also narrow down a list of strats your opponent could be just by looking at the map. For example low income high unit prod? Imp or Gw. High income average spawn? mos sm lb etc. You get the idea.
