One guy is near my capital with 12 tanks, what he does as his first move is to attack my capital, what I do as my first move is to send all my bombers on his tanks, make bombers from other cities and again attack his tanks.. the end result he takes my capital, my planes near my capital where his tanks were... next turn I take all my bombers and attack my capital and retake my capital but his tanks escapes by attacking one of my units... next turn I take the bombers from my capital and attack his tanks, what he does is to attack my capital.. end result he attack me and I lost my capital and my bombers.. what I don't understand about the order of moves? isn't supposed to be 50/50? I'm that unlucky?

He can increase his chances of escape by splitting his stack and leaving a single unit. Check your battle phase and see if your units are catching just one tank. If not your just that unlucky.

Splitting stacks has no impact on the tb.

If he split 11 tank to attack and 1 to remain, then there is a

50% chance the entire stack gets tbbed
50% chance the 11 tanks escape but the bombers attack the 1 tank.

Compared to not splitting which has
50% chance the entire stack get tbbed
50% chance the tanks escape and attacks the city.

The only thing splitting the stack does is prevent the other player from intercepting the tanks and having the bombers participate in the battle in the city.
